Our great and glorious leader was ambushed on Tuesday morning.
Captive in the front row at the Washington National Cathedral, he endured a shameful lecture from the pulpit, a sermon filled with putrid wokeness. Like every woman who offends President Trump, Mariann Edgar Budde, so-called Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart.
“In the name of our God,’’ she said, right to our Dear Leader’s gorgeous face, “I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away, and that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here.’’
She also asked for mercy for “gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and independent families — some who fear for their lives.’’
Talk about preachy. Deport her! House Speaker Mike Johnson was right to call it “radical ideology,’’ denouncing Budde — who refused to apologize — as “shameful’’ for “continuing her political crusade in media interviews.’’
The nerve! Doesn’t Budde know that our God backs Trump all the way? The Almighty saved him from the assassin’s bullet that wounded his precious ear last year for a reason.
“I was saved by God to make America great again,’’ he said in his inauguration speech, delivered in the same marbled Capitol building where the president’s heroic devotees beat police officers and smeared feces in his holy name.
For God so loved the world, he gave us a second Trump term — and possibly a third, now that constitutional amendments are up for debate (except the Second. We are strict constructionists, after all).
The Chosen One will not be instructed on matters of faith. As every true Christian knows, The Good Book is replete with teachings that support our MAGA messiah. Love thy neighbor as thyself, Jesus famously said, as long as said neighbors voted for you. If hurricanes or wildfires hit the others, they’re on their own.
Yes, Jesus was all about feeding the hungry and welcoming the stranger. What you do for “the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me,’’ he said. But he didn’t mean everybody. The hordes of Black and brown vermin flooding over our border, poisoning the blood of our country, aren’t our brethren. Indeed, they’re barely human!
Like Trump, who has surrounded himself with billionaires, Jesus famously loved to pal around with the broligarchs of his time. Remember the huge bash he threw with the merchants and money changers in the temple? True, Jesus also said that “it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.’’ But they had much smaller needles back then, and no geniuses like Musk or Bezos, who could not only make huge ones, but send them into space.
Also, Jesus said, “Suffer little children,’’ and some other words. If that isn’t an endorsement of Trump’s policies, nothing the Son of God said is! Suffer, children most certainly will, as Trump and his dedicated servants target kids who defy the gender assigned to them as zygotes, and separate immigrant children from their parents, who have only themselves to blame for the ensuing trauma.
That is what God would want. What would Bishop Budde do — wash their stinking feet?
And where does she get off challenging our absolute and infallible ruler in the first place? Can’t she see everybody else is bowing down? Not just Republicans, who obey his every command, but Democrats in Congress too, most of whom appear willing to let the GOP roll right over them. Talk about turning the other cheek!
How did a woman get to be bishop, anyway? The scourge of DEI, no doubt. Obviously, the only people we can be sure truly deserve their jobs are white men. It’s a good bet everybody else stole them using some woke quota. How can you tell they’re unqualified? Why, you only have to look at them.
That’s all over now. Our president took a chainsaw to DEI everything, inside and outside the government, even reaching back to 1965 to nix an order by LBJ. We’re finally back, boys! Meritocracy all the way. Just look at our spectacular new defense secretary.
Blessed are the merciful? Well, we won the election.
