Be not ordained: Move beyond the same old song and dance on women's ordination
The Institutional Church should think out of the box. There could be 500 or more parishes in a diocese. Don't build church buildings; but rent space for worship and other parish gatherings. When the population moves on, the rented space can change. ELIMINATE ORDINATION. All current priests would be laicized. They would be eligible, along with other lay men and women, to run for the office of President of the Archdiocese and to be commissioned to lead Eucharist. The President of the Archdiocese would not be a bishop. He or she would be elected by the local Roman Catholic membership, with term limits. Parishes could be clusters of several families. The President of the Archdiocese would commission the heads (men and women) of the family in the parish to preside at Eucharist (Mass). Smaller parishes could meet in people's homes. Larger parishes would rent space for worship. Sell as many existing church buildings as possible.
How simple a solution to the present problem if the Institution would only THINK OUT OF THE BOX. The Institution needs to repent (metanoia): a change of attitude that leads the Institution to rethink what it is all about and then act on that "turned around" thought.
