Your thoughts:
NCR readers respond to a recent Villanova University panel that
intensified the debate about denying President Joe Biden Communion
because of his support of legal abortion.
I think the bishops need to ask WWJD on this. Frankly, I doubt if Jesus would be in favor of neglecting the already born, sending them to almost certain death or injury in war as well as to injure or take others' lives in war, or consigning the already born to death as punishment for breaking laws. Death is death, and life is life. IMO they need to be consistent lest they be considered hypocrites.
My thoughts are in alignment with those of "Unknown" (May 19, 2021, 8:03 PM), who detailed them well.
Further, if the bishops carry through on their threat to deny President Biden Eucharist, I'm contemplating denying myself Eucharist in solidarity with him, painful though it would be.
