In the wake of the recent revelations of clergy sex abuse and coverup, many -- including Pope Francis -- have diagnosed clericalism as one underlying disease doing great harm to our Church. Many of us know this phenomenon all too well and have been doing our part to overcome it since Vatican II. Still, how do we rid ourselves once and for all of every form and manifestation of clericalism?
