I am confused. Every argument proposed by the church militant suggests that abortion is a moral and religious question. Therefore, how can it be moral and political issue. The constant placing of abortion in the teaching of the Catholic Catechism squarely places it in contradiction to the constitution which prohibits the Federal Government from establishing a religion, and/or religious positions. Should not the abortion issue be remanded to the churches to deal with it in their respective penalty codes? The issue is clearly not a matter for the Courts nor is it a matter the the States. It is a church matter. Give it to the churches to settle.
