Such self righteous acts are symbols of a marginal church not connected to the Church with a Pope who was not God so could not judge. My model church is one like St. Francis De Sales, Philadelphia, diverse on all levels that had accepted as a member, and church volunteer, a man partnered with a member of the neighboring Methodist church, and lovingly had no problem with holding a community burial mass for him when AIDS took his life. God is Love and should be a guide in all our relationships and attempts to understand the lives of others.
