Cardinal Robert Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, sent a text to a colloquium in Germany called to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Pope Benedict XVI’s motu proprio Summorum Pontificum.  Much that the cardinal had to say was unexceptional and I found myself in agreement with parts of the text. But, other parts seemed unnecessarily harsh and even foolish. He stated:
